Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned
Senior Real Estate Paralegal
to support a high-performing Real Estate Practice Group. This role involves complex transactional work including document preparation, title and zoning review, and coordination throughout the full lifecycle of real estate closings. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in managing title and survey reviews for commercial real estate deals.
Responsibilities
Train and mentor entry-level paralegals and Transaction Assistants
Assist attorneys with due diligence: organizing and reviewing loan documents, titles, surveys, and zoning materials
Manage post-closing tasks such as preparing closing binders and recording documents
Analyze title commitments, policies, and underlying documentation; draft title objection letters
Negotiate and resolve title issues
Order and review due diligence materials (zoning, lien searches, surveys, environmental reports)
Research and analyze zoning and environmental reports, engineering documents, and permits
Draft and review key transactional documents including mortgages, deeds, assignments, leases, UCC filings, estoppels, and affidavits
Prepare abstracts and summaries of leases, reports, and REAs
Review and prepare corporate formation documents
Participate in calls and meetings related to transaction progress
Notarize documents as needed Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of real estate paralegal experience with focus on title and survey review
High school diploma (Bachelor's degree strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of real estate transactional workflows and documentation
Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to assess legal documents thoroughly
Flexibility to work extended hours and travel when needed
Eligible for or currently hold a New York Notary commission
