Closing Date: 09/26/2025 Oberlin City Schools is seeking a full time qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to provide interpreting services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The interpreter will facilitate communication between students, teachers, peers, and staff to ensure equal access to instruction and participation in all school activities.

Responsibilities include:

Provide accurate and effective interpretation in classrooms, meetings, and school-sponsored activities. Support access to the general education curriculum and IEP services. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with district and legal requirements. Collaborate with teachers, intervention specialists, and related service providers. Adapt interpreting methods to meet individual student needs. Prepare for assignments by reviewing lesson plans and instructional materials. Promote student independence and self-advocacy skills. Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Bachelor's degree preferred Current Ohio Department of Education

Educational Interpreter License

(required). Proficiency in American Sign Language and English. Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
