Manufacturing Estimator - Enclosed Trailers & Metal Fabrication

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Manufacturing Estimator to join our team, specializing in enclosed trailers and metal fabrication. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of estimating experience, with a strong preference for those who have estimated trailers and Division 5 metals. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, competitive, and profitable project bids by analyzing requirements, preparing cost estimates, and collaborating with internal teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to fully understand project scope and specifications. Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and processing, focusing on enclosed trailers and Division 5 metals. Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and production departments to determine optimal materials, fabrication methods, and production schedules. Solicit and collect material and subcontractor quotes; maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers. Prepare and present formal price and delivery quotations to management and customers. Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and bills of material. Track and manage multiple estimates and quotations simultaneously; monitor job progress and update estimates as needed. Support the sales team with technical information and cost breakdowns during the bidding process. Continuously analyze cost data and feedback to improve estimating accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities. Assist with the preparation of work instructions for new and revised projects. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and customer requirements. Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in estimating, preferably in manufacturing, metal fabrication, or trailer production. Experience estimating trailers and Division 5 metals is highly preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Proficiency with estimating and design software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP systems) is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
