Overview:Directs and coordinates the activities of the Heritage Hummus Center to include, but not limited to production, production scheduling, inventory management, budget planning, process efficiency and sanitation by performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the position or by delegating to subordinates. Oversee all aspects of production and manage the execution of the production plan, quality and safety of the product, labor requirements, data collection and efficiencies.

Job Description:

Essential Functions

Produce products in the correct quantities and on time to meet shipping deadlines

Manufacture products of the highest quality, cost-effectively - outstanding in appearance, package presentation, performance and taste - by correctly handling and utilizing raw materials and Good Manufacturing, Food Safety and Quality Practices

Maintain proper inventory levels and review daily production scheduling and sequencing

Responsible for attaining raw material yields

Oversee the training of personnel in the performance of job responsibilities, including the safe and proper handling and/or use of material, tools, machinery, and equipment

Recommend & implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency, food safety and quality and improve production methods

Maintain an adequately staffed, safe, clean & well qualified Production organization while maintaining positive employee relations

Interface with FDA inspection personnel

Must thoroughly understand and ensures that employees adhere to company policies and work rules regarding SQF, HACCP, GMP and SOP

Conducts disciplinary actions of supervisory/administrative personnel in coordination with the Human Resources Department. Also responsible for production personnel in the absence of the responsible supervisor(s)/manager(s).

Provide leadership & training to accomplish the company goals & objectives.

Lead the incorporation of LEAN manufacturing principles across the production facility.

Build & nurture team environment under quickly evolving growth curve which fosters individual growth and opportunity in alignment with the company culture

Attends scheduled meetings as required

Submit operational reports as required

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, related field or equivalent

7+ years of progressively responsible experience in a supervisory/management capacity within an FDA-regulated food manufacturing environment.

Thorough knowledge of production scheduling, inventory management, budget planning, and process efficiency, organizational, leadership, supervisory, team building and technical skills

The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management and employees and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment, with a high energy, proactive style.

Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures within the food manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of current FSMA regulations and experience w/ third-party certifications

Strong team builder & coach with history of helping others achieve their potential.

Strong analytical skills with solid understanding of financial data & planning.

Able to translate detailed data & observations into fact-based performance enhancing recommendations, and effectively present to and gain buy-in from management.

Ability to partner cross functionally to achieve desired results.

Proven success using metrics, productivity tracking & data collection systems to drive continuous performance improvement.

Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, change oriented environment.

Solid interpersonal, verbal, & written communication & presentation skills
