The Office of Performance Management and Data Analytics (OPMDA) is responsible for reporting and analyzing critical statistics and data on social service programs administered by NYCs Human Resources Administration and the Department of Homeless Services; and supporting these Agencies in meeting their mission of fighting poverty and homelessness to create better access to social services and public benefits. OPMDA supports data-driven management and decision making through the development of performance management systems that benchmark and measure operational processes and performance outcomes.

The Program Coordinator will focus on critical reporting and analytic needs that are required for ongoing management and monitoring agency performance to ensure that mandates and performance levels are maintained.

OPMDA is requesting to hire one (1) Community Coordinator to function as a Program Coordinator, who will:

Maintain a portfolio of various on-going and ad-hoc reports, data analysis products, and performance management tools to assess the impact and effectiveness of the Agencys anti-poverty services and initiatives, including Family Independence Administration (FIA) operations. Monitor critical statistics related to FIAs client population and conduct research analyses to provide data-driven explanations of trends. Collect data points from a variety of sources, including working with other stakeholders on the timely deliverable of key metrics as well as querying from various Agency databases using SQL. Assist with report optimization, data collection strategies, and documentation. Provide quality assurance for the integration of various data sources when automating new reports.

Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of federal and state social service programs. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and macros/VBA. Programming experience in either Python or SQL.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
