An employer is looking to add an Outside Sales Representative to their team in Kansas City, MO. This person will be working with the Sales Manager to provide exceptional care and service to customers in their designated territory. This individual will be responsible for determining new business opportunities, following up on potential leads, and maintaining contact with existing customers on the phone, through email and in person. In conjunction, this individual will discover and monitor industry trends to ensure Hummert stays top of mind and carries products/equipment to best suit our customers. An emphasis in education or experience in Turf ManagementExperience selling horticulture or greenhouse related productsCollege degree in Horticulture, Business or an acceptable combination of education and experience General computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet software Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotasSolid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management. Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makersStrong knowledge of distribution, retail, and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniquesStrong ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
