Description2nd Shift Inspector Packer/Machine Operator in our Sheet Plant (ESP) located at 1101 East 6th Street in Winona, MN.Custom engineered sheet products are manufactured utilizing different engineered resin systems and a range of thermoplastic technologies in a variety of sizes and textures. This position is responsible removing product from the train and packing it in boxes per customer specifications. The Inspector/Packer performs visual and dimensional product checks as well as prepares all packaging needed for shipping and monitors the production process in partnership with the Operator. Work Schedule: 2nd shift is Monday through Friday from 3-11pm. Overtime as required, including being assigned to a rotating A/B weekend schedule should the need arise based on business demand.Note: Training is required on 1st shift for approximately 1 month. Hours are 7am to 3pm.ResponsibilitiesReview and understand all work instruction prior to starting a production run. Visually inspect product for color, grain, extrusion quality, etc. Perform product gauge inspections. Notify operator when product does not meet specifications. Obtain/prepare skids and supplies for upcoming production runs. Remove product from train and stack in boxes. Tape, band, and weigh full boxes as they come off the line. Obtain any sample pieces that may need to be shipped with product (Example Standard Imag) Granulate scrap. Assist maintenance with minor repairs. Monitor extrusion production process when Operator is on break. Maintain work area.Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or as apparent.RequirementsSkills and AbilitiesMust be able to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work process, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment Must be able to operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and stand for an 8-hour shiftMust be able to read and follow manuals and proceduresMust be able to maintain a clean and safe workspaceMust be dependable and have excellent attendance.Must have a positive attitude.Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed, up to every other weekend.Must be willing and able to work in temperature extremes - hot and cold.Must be able to pass a forklift test.Must be able to pass a respirator fit test.Attendance is an essential function of the job.Must be able to read, write, and speak English.Education and ExperiencePreferred high school diploma or equivalentPreferred forklift experiencePreferred previous manufacturing experiencePhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsRegularly Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls Talk and hear to coordinate and operate equipment Use of safety equipment as dictated by the work (safety glasses, safety shoes, respirators, face shields, hearing protection, gloves, etc.) Exposure to moving mechanical partsFrequently Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds Work in temperature extremes, wet and/or humid conditions, with dust, fumes, airborne particlesOccasionally Sit Handle (with mechanical equipment) up to 250 pounds.
