POSITION SPECIFICSJoin the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing as an Administrative Assistant to support and serve as the point of contact for the Center for Nursing Research (CNR).The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role for CNR by not only being a resource for visitors and students to the center, but also supporting the Director of Research Administration, Associate Dean for Research and Innovation, CNR staff, and research-related faculty members.The Administrative Assistant will work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, utilizing organizational skills and a high level of professionalism and discretion, to complete this position's responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:Administrative Support for Research LeadershipCoordinate schedules and meetings for the Director of Research Administration and Associate Dean for Research and InnovationAssist in preparing the monthly CNR newsletterFacilitate communication between leadership and research faculty/staffSupport for Research Faculty and StudentsServe as a point of contact for faculty and students; respond to inquiries and routine requestsProvide guidance on office operations and software toolsAssist with research-related tasks including grant preparation, manuscript support, peer reviews, evaluations, and Activity Insight submissionsSupport data collection for CNR initiativesCommunication and CoordinationManage scheduling and meeting logistics for research facultyEnsure consistent and effective communication between CNR and research teamsEvent Coordination and Committee SupportProvide administrative support for CNR-sponsored events such as symposiums, seminars, and faculty meetingsHandle logistics including room reservations, Zoom setup, refreshments, and on-site supportPrepare agendas, meeting materials, and minutesCoordinate speaker communications, marketing efforts, and evaluation processes for the CNR Education Seminar SeriesQualifications:Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skillsExperience with Microsoft Office 365, including Word and Excel, is preferred. Previous administrative experience will also be considered a plus.MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONSGeneral Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS)2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptedRequired Certifications:NoneBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCESEmployment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa.
