Job Summary:Highly experienced ART lab professional responsible for performing all aspects of an assisted Reproductive Technology laboratory. Often the go to person for problem-solving, technical questions and the most technically advanced aspects of work in an embryology lab.Essential Responsibilities:Coordinates and participates in the Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) laboratory activities of an IVF service as an embryologist, such as but not limited to semen preparation, oocyte identification, conventional insemination, embryo culture vitrification, warming and embryo transfer.Independently perform specialized embryology cases such as Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Embryo Biopsy, Oocyte vitrification and Surgical Sperm Retrieval.Consults internally and externally with clinicians and providers on technical issues, patient care management, and test interpretation/selection.Serves as in house expert in area of specialty. Keeps current with technological developments through literature search, seminars and other modes of communications.Assist in Policy and Procedure development and implementation.Participate in Lab Quality Management activities.Assist in equipment validation.Assist with daily laboratory maintenance tasks.Assist in the training of Embryologists, Embryology Associates and trainee candidates.Ensures all patient information is documented appropriately in electronic medical record system.Provide feedback to department leadership on process improvement and job specifications to help gain efficiencies in the day-to-day workflows. Basic Qualifications: Experience Minimum five (5) years experience in all aspects of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART), clinical lab technologies, tissue culture, semen preparation, egg retrieval, assessment, and transfer, sperm and embryo cryopreservation and micromanipulation Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)Minimum one (1) year experience independently perform embryo biopsy Education Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology or other related science degree required or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
