Job Description Are you a self-starting, take charge estimator who can hold others accountable? Do you thrive as a multi-tasker and enjoy every day being different? Our client is searching for a motivated, detail oriented HVAC Estimator!

Principle Duties: • Responsible for managing the estimating process for HVAC and plumbing / piping construction projects from start to finish. • Analyze all front-end specifications to accurately identify schedules, sequences, material types, desired manufacturers, labor methods, and special requirements. • Send bid invitations to subcontractors and vendors as well as follow up with bidders to ensure we are receiving pricing in a timely manner. • Be willing to perform quantify takeoffs where required for project estimates. • Audit and train others performing takeoffs for projects. • Maintain positive vendor and subcontractor relationships. • Ensure proper coverage for equipment and subcontractors on all project • Seek feedback on performance of all estimates relative to actual dollars spent and adjust estimating strategies accordingly. • Work with business development and operations to determine target projects to bid. • Deliver consistent, accurate and error free estimates. • Ensure timeliness of bidding deliverables to clients. • Maintain pricing and labor databases with current and accurate data. • Assist in the training of others in estimating software.

Requirements

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in estimating plumbing or HVAC on commercial projects. • BA in engineering, construction science, or equivalent field experience preferred. • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of staff, clients, subcontractors, and vendors from project inception to completion. • Display critical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Exceptional time management skills; highly organized. • Excellent attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple projects in the estimating phase at once while maintaining accuracy and schedule. • Demonstrated ability to use bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis and proposals. • Ability to work well as a team.
