Position Objective

The Preconstruction Executive plays a pivotal leadership role at Centric, managing the preconstruction phase across project pursuits, conceptual estimating, and schedule development. Acting as the primary liaison for clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and architects, this position ensures the delivery of accurate estimates, creative problem-solving, and seamless transition to project execution. This leader will collaborate closely with Operations and Business Development teams to evaluate project feasibility and support strategic growth initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

Team Leadership + Management

Lead and mentor the Preconstruction team, fostering professional development and high performance Delegate and coordinate project responsibilities to ensure deadlines and quality standards are consistently met Provide coaching and constructive feedback to improve individual and team outcomes Operational Excellence in Preconstruction

Lead the preparation of conceptual, negotiated, and select bid proposals with realistic project expectations Identify and mitigate potential project risks through proactive planning and collaboration Promote innovative, cost-effective solutions to meet project goals Manage subcontractor prequalification and ongoing performance monitoring to ensure alignment with Centric's standards Build strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and partners to enhance project success and Centric's industry reputation Ensure effective communication and collaboration between preconstruction and operations teams, supporting project execution through robust hand-offs and feedback loops Maintain and update historical project costs and scheduling databases Conceptual Estimation + Cost Management

Analyze project designs, specifications, and conceptual drawings to develop accurate cost estimates using industry-standard software and tools Collaborate with internal teams and trade partners to refine pricing and enhance estimate accuracy Maintain an up-to-date cost database, tracking market trends, material pricing, and labor rates Develop comprehensive cost models, incorporating labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and profit projections Evaluate cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing project quality or functionality Client Consultation + Business Development

Serve as a trusted consultant to clients, aligning project goals with practical solutions and delivering an exceptional preconstruction experience Support clients in material and vendor selection, aligning with their project vision and budget Actively participate in client presentations and pursuit strategies to drive business growth Foster lasting client relationships to support repeat business and new opportunities Supporting Job Functions

Represent Centric at industry events and networking engagements. Support marketing and proposal development efforts. Qualifications + Requirements

Basic Qualifications

10 - 15 years of combined experience in construction operations and estimating Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and construction experience A valid driver's license is required Proficiency in navigating project scheduling software and the Microsoft Office suite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strategic, innovative problem-solving abilities Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building capabilities Operational mindset with a focus on process improvement and execution Proactive embrace of technology for process enhancement Physical Requirements
