Negotiable SUPERVISOR: Public Works Administrator THIS IS A REGULAR FULLTIME EXEMPT POSITION JOB SUMMARY:
This position is directly responsible for the management of the Water and Sewer operations and responsible for the implementation and enforcement of policies relevant to the Water & Sewer department. The Water & Sewer department plays a critical role in ensuring safe water supply, efficient sewer management, and overall community well-being. Examples of Duties DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all facets of the Water & Sewer department to provide adequate, safe, and efficient water and wastewater services. Assures that operations and procedures of the department comply with federal and state occupational health and safety regulations and maintains records of compliance with Federal, State, and Tribal regulations. Assures adequate supply of potable water to residential and commercial users and sufficient supply of proper pressures for firefighting and for industrial uses. Supervises routine maintenance schedules of both water and sewerage systems. Record and monitor water entering the distribution system and its consumption in determining the scope and scheduling of maintenance projects; confers with the Public Works Division Administrator on major problems and recommend solutions. Assists in the preparation of grant applications for water and sewer projects. Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the improvement of W&S infrastructure including construction, mechanics, etc. and performs inspections of contract work, determines compliance, and recommends acceptance or non-acceptance of the work to the Public Works Administrator. Document project activities and ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and make necessary progress reports and final project reports. Directs the keeping of records and supervises the preparation of necessary reports with primary responsibility for compliance relationships with regulatory agencies. Prepare and present monthly agenda items/information to the Red Cliff Utility Commission. Prepares specifications for water and sewer related materials. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor. SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:

Typical Qualifications KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge and proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office. Thorough knowledge of water and sewer system operation and maintenance. QUALIFICATIONS:
Four-year degree in related field, highly preferred; OR in lieu of a degree, must have at least 5 years' work experience in a supervising capacity overseeing water/sewer operations. This experience must be sufficient to demonstrate competency and knowledge in this area. Possess a Wisconsin Grade 2 (subclass A, C, E) Wastewater certification and Grade G&D Water certification. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience in project management. Must be able to perform and/or manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities concurrently. Must be efficient, a self-starter, and an independent worker. Must be able to plan, schedule, and review the work of others in a manner conducive to proficient performance and high morale. Desirable to have eight or more years of experience in management at a comparable level. Effectively and accurately communicate orally and in written form, including spelling and grammatical skills. Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle and appropriate vehicle coverage and maintain driver's eligibility as a condition of employment. Be eligible to be put on the Tribe's vehicle insurance policy. Must be available to be on call to respond to emergency conditions. Supplemental Information PERSONAL CONTACTS : Daily work administration, supervisors, staff, community members and various agencies. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office/Community setting may have to do bending, lifting and carrying of at least 20 pounds, basic knowledge of wiring for water meter/radio transmitters. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office and Community, some home visits for water meter purpose of meter reading or repair. All tribal buildings are smoke free. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
The ability to travel and attend meetings and trainings; overnight and out of town, both locally & nationally.
