We are seeking an experienced
Civil Construction Estimator
to join our growing Project Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading
Louisiana heavy/highway contractor known for delivering high-quality civil construction projects, including
concrete paving, sitework, sewer and drainage systems, and barrier installations .
The ideal candidate will bring
10+ years of estimating experience in Heavy Highway construction , a strong understanding of state and federal project specifications, and the ability to collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed
take-offs
and prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment. Review construction documents, specifications, and contracts to determine project scope and requirements. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes for competitive bids. Prepare bid packages, proposals, and cost breakdowns for upcoming projects. Collaborate with the project management team on financial planning and cost control. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and government agencies. Assist with bid strategy, proposal review, and project decision-making. Attend team and client meetings as required. Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree
in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management. 10+ years of Heavy Highway Construction estimating experience . Proficiency with
HCSS HeavyBid ,
Primavera P6 , and estimating/scheduling software. Strong skills in reading contracts, plans, and specifications. Knowledge of multi-phase civil construction processes. Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills. Field experience is a plus. Must be comfortable in a pet-friendly office (dogs onsite). Compensation & Benefits
Salary:
$100,000 - $120,000 (DOE) Bonus:
