ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
The Paint and Prep Technician is responsible for prep of material to include filling, sanding and checking workload for paint application, quality control, and product movement in relation to paint repair.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to work independently and take initiative. Must be a quick learner, able to multi-task and switch gears easily.
Flexibility to work both paint and finishing
Strong communication and organizational skills with passion for detail and accuracy
Demonstrated competence to assess priorities and manage a variety of activities in a time-sensitive environment and to meet deadlines with attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in fast-paced environment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Quality Control
Ensure product is finished to proper standards
Visual inspection to determine the level of re-coat need, if any.
Mask/cover product for appropriate paint application
Wipe down/clean product when needed.
Sanding
Use of hand and power tools
Filling voids with filler
Painting
Daily paint application
Proper paint disposal, material movement, and working knowledge of product being utilized.
Use of hand tools, spray equipment, hand rollers, sanders, and hydraulic lift
Stencil use and proper placement
Schedule Flexibility
Monday through Friday work schedule with weekend hours as required
Manage time to provide the desired outcome for repair (re-spray, bondo, re-roll)
Material Handling
Move products in and out of workspace according to the coordinated plan.
