Position Title: Clinical GeneticistLocation: Helena, MT, with regular travel to clinics across MontanaDepartment: Medical GeneticsPosition Summary: Shodair Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Geneticist to join our growing genetics team. This position plays a critical role in the evaluation, diagnosis, counseling, and management of patients with known or suspected genetic and hereditary conditions, from preconception through adulthood. The ideal candidate will combine clinical expertise with a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care while contributing to research, education, and quality improvement efforts across the state of Montana.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Evaluation & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments, interpret genetic tests, and deliver accurate diagnoses using evidence-based practices. Genetic Counseling: Provide clear, compassionate counseling on genetic conditions, test results, inheritance patterns, and available care options. Patient Management: Create and oversee personalized treatment plans, collaborate with specialists, and provide ongoing follow-up care. Testing & Interpretation: Order and analyze molecular, chromosomal, and biochemical genetic tests in alignment with current guidelines. Team Collaboration: Partner with internal and external healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, multidisciplinary care. Education & Research: Stay current in the field, contribute to research, participate in professional development, and support educational efforts. Ethics & Documentation: Navigate ethical concerns with sensitivity and maintain accurate, compliant medical records. Quality & Outreach: Engage in quality improvement and provide outreach services across Montana, including regular overnight travel. Why Join Shodair?
