Job Summary And Qualifications
The
RN
Manager PCU has the direct-line responsibility for day to day operations and overall responsibility for the nursing department, insuring that employees have effective management, good communication and appropriate discipline. The Nurse Manager is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the coordination of patient care, administrative and nursing activities. The Nurse Manager is also responsible for the implementation and evaluation of all nursing care and related activities and ensuring the highest possible quality care. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student.
What qualifications you will need:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse License BLS Healthcare provider on hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) ACLS (American Heart Association) or ALS (American Red Cross) Certification on hire or within 3 months of hire or transfer date NIH Stroke Scale Certification must be complete within 90 days of hire. Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing. BSN required or a Bachelors in another health related degree. Experience: PCU or ICU experience required. Required experience can substitute for one (1) year of leadership experience. Recent nursing practice, with experience in a nursing leadership position preferred.
National certification in specialty preferred. Must be achieved within 12 months of appointment if not current.
