Job DescriptionPosition Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our athletic and daycare center. This leadership role combines business management, employee supervision, and logistical oversight to ensure the center runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with our mission of providing a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children. The ideal candidate has strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with experience in overseeing operations in a childcare, recreational, or similar environment. Key Responsibilities:Operations ManagementOversee the day-to-day operations of the athletic and daycare center, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.Manage and maintain facilities, including equipment, daycare spaces, and outdoor areas, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment maintenance, repairs, and facility upgrades.Staff LeadershipRecruit, train, and supervise a team of instructors, childcare providers, and administrative staff.Develop staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for programs, classes, and daycare activities.Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, addressing staff concerns and providing mentorship and performance feedback.Customer ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing concerns, inquiries, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.Oversee program enrollment, payments, and parent communications.Plan and organize parent orientation sessions, open houses, and special events (e.g., skill showcases or seasonal daycare celebrations).Program SupportCollaborate with athletic instructors and daycare staff to support curriculum development, class scheduling, and enrichment activities.Monitor program effectiveness and recommend adjustments to better meet children's developmental and physical needs.Compliance and SafetyEnsure the facility meets all local, state, and federal regulations for childcare, safety, and recreational center operations.Conduct regular safety checks and drills, and ensure staff complete required certifications, including CPR/First Aid.Maintain detailed records of accidents, incidents, and attendance logs, reporting any issues to leadership and regulatory bodies as required.Administrative DutiesDevelop and oversee center budgets, including operational expenses, payroll, and revenue tracking.Implement and optimize operational policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.Generate regular reports on program performance, enrollment statistics, and staff productivity for senior management. Qualifications:Previous experience in operations management, recreational facility management, or childcare leadership (gym or sports program experience preferred).Bachelor's degree in business, recreation management, education, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.Familiarity with childcare and recreational safety regulations.Proficiency in office management software (e.g., Microsoft Office, scheduling software, child management systems). Preferred Skills:Experience in gymnastics programs, recreational sports facilities, or daycare operations.Basic accounting or financial management skills.Conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities.CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Work Environment:This role requires time spent in both office and facility settings. The Operations Manager must work closely with staff, children, and parents in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that combines recreational activities and childcare.
