The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.| WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORThe Controls Engineer, Coating & Bonding is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for the coating and bonding line. This role ensures that all control systems are optimized for efficiency, reliability, and safety, supporting the company's production goals.* Must be willing to relocate to Warsaw, Indiana. Relocation assistance will be provided. *| WHAT YOU GET TO DOControl System Design and DevelopmentDesign and develop control systems and algorithms to meet the specific needs of the manufacturing line.Program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and other control interfaces.Conduct system integration, testing, and debugging to ensure functionality and reliability.System Maintenance and TroubleshootingPerform regular maintenance checks on control systems and affiliated machinery.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems to minimize downtime.Maintain and upgrade existing control systems to enhance efficiency and longevity.Process OptimizationConduct system analysis to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes.Collaborate with other engineers and departments to ensure seamless integration of new processes.Compliance and DocumentationEnsure all control systems comply with industry standards and safety regulations.Maintain accurate documentation of control system designs, configurations, and maintenance activities.Prepare and present regular reports on control system performance to senior management.Training and SupportProvide training and technical support to maintenance staff and users on control systems.Stay up to date with the latest technology trends in control engineering.| WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAMBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.Advanced degrees or certifications in Controls Engineering or related areas are a plus.8+ years of experience in Controls Engineering within a manufacturing environment.Proven experience in programming and configuring PLCs, SCADA, and other control systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in control system software and tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).| PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust have the ability to travel (up to 10%).Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.WHY JOIN TEAM SLATE?
