Painter/Powder Coater

JOB SUMMARY:
Sets up, operates or tends machines to coat or paint a wide variety of products.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Function
Cleaning & maintenance of connectors, guns and masks
Performs simple and less complex paint and powder coating techniques
Line responsibilities such as: weigh out powder, blow lines and color changes
Weighs/measures chemicals, coatings/paints before adding them to machines, selects appropriate coatings/paints/spray
Sets up and operates machines to paint or coat products with materials
Set adjust and monitor oven settings
Observes machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards and make adjustments as necessary
Determines paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections
Follow instructions concerning powdercoating, titration, making appropriate chemical adjustments and complying with safety and preventative maintenance responsibilities.
Following instructions for transacting jobs in and out correctly, logging and identifying parts prior to leaving department.
Effectively read appropriate measuring devices and measure specified dimensions from print and record data
Responsible for checking the end product to ensure it meets customer specifications and SPM quality standards. Raise quality issues to the next level if quality is compromised.
Effectively set guns on certain powder lines
Performs changes color with works with minimal supervision
Conducts chemical daily test parameter
Ability to use the conveyor, powder guns and booth components

EDUCATION:
Post High School or Specialized Training Field:
minimum 3 years of experience in Paint and Powder Coat or similar
Manufacturing Plant position
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL:
Describe work environment and travel requirements to this position.
Air-Conditioned Plant environment with variety of conditions. Regularly required to sit or stand. Protective clothing, eyewear, masks and shoes are required. Maximum weight limit 55 pounds.
