Primary Recruiting Services - Supply Chain
Title : Global Commodity Manager Location : Dallas, TX Schedule : Hybrid Salary : $110,000 - $120,000 Bonus : up to 20% bonus potential Benefits : Health, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k match, plus more Department : Procurement
What You'll Be Doing: Develop and optimize procurement strategies for direct commodities and streamline strategic sourcing strategies.
Lead category evaluation and strategy development through data driven analysis in a manufacturing environment.
Contribute to buying decisions and business needs assessments to align with overall purchasing strategy.
Participate in the capital procurement process for plant-specific capital projects.
Identify consolidation opportunities with suppliers to secure the lowest cost of materials, considering safety, quality, sustainability, reliability, and urgency.
Mitigate supply risk by establishing backup suppliers for critical spend categories.
Negotiate and sourcing contracts with suppliers.
Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing.
Proactively identify and lead cost-saving projects.
Manage RFQ & RFP processes, including interviewing suppliers, recommending sources, and analyzing quotations to prepare recommendations. What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related major
Minimum 7 years of direct professional procurement experience with commodity management experience preferred
ERP experience including SAP, JD Edwards, etc
Excellent negotiation, analytical and organization skills
Ability to plan and prioritize a wide variety of activities
