Fire Sprinkler Mechanic
Columbia, MD
We are working with a leading provider of fire, security, and sprinkler systems solutions. They provide design, installation, and service to high quality data communications, video, sound, fire and security alarm systems within retail, healthcare, education, government, hospitality, and more.
This position will assist in repairing and installing wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire protection piping, valves, and accessories for commercial, some residential buildings, and industrial applications in compliance with current codes.
Duties/Responsibilities: • Read schematics and determine what materials you need for each project. • Cut and assemble pipe systems. • Install sprinkler systems and inspect them for fire code violations. • Perform sprinkler repair and maintenance. • Log all repairs and maintenance and report significant issues.
Education and Experience: • 3-5 years' experience within the sprinkler industry. • Familiar with wet and dry systems. • Valid driver's license. • Able to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician licenses as required. • Minimum NICET II in Fire Protection, Inspection and Testing of Water Based systems or the ability to obtain within the first year of employment. • Knowledge of NFPA alarm system requirements and the ability to interpret code books. • Maintain a good driving record.
Physical Requirements: • Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete • jobs. • Must be willing to work at heights. • Must be able to operate electrical tools. • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times This role is offering an hourly wage from $25 - $35 per hour and offers a competitive benefit package that includes, medical, dental and vision insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k), life insurance, 9 paid holidays, PTO and sick leave, uniforms/uniform assistance, and more!
