Description
Position Summary
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, CNC Machines, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties. Diagnosis of all reported mechanical and minor electrical issues using basic test equipment, prints, and schematics. Disassemble and repair or rebuild machinery and equipment. Fabricate and install parts. Recommend and implement cost efficient repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Experience maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting CNC Machines required Ability to employ critical thinking skills Able to excel at troubleshooting Observes mechanical devices in operation to diagnose and /or troubleshoot problems or breakdowns. Dismantles machinery and/or equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Initiates purchase order for parts, equipment, and outside services. Repairs all mechanical and minor electrical equipment Ability to use power and hand tools. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications
Must have strong mechanical aptitude and valid NYS drivers license.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent from trade or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to compute rate and percent and apply concepts such as fractions, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
