Direct, coordinate and assist in the planning, organization, control, integration and completion of plant based activities for new site launches, site compressions/rationalizations and product transfers. Execute, implement, and start-up foot print projects to achieve cost leadership goals. The Program Manager plays a major role in problem identification and resolution during the project by highlighting potential areas of concern and promptly driving resolution of issues that affect project execution. Focus is on: translation of strategy into detailed project plans; execution of those plans; management of cross functional teams; project profitability; and development of internal relationships. Define project requirements, schedules, deployment plans, and resource needs to carry projects from start to finish, or concept through final production. Develop project plans including work breakdown, project milestones, critical path analyses, risk management, cost/benefit analysis, staffing plans, project timelines, and project budgets. Assemble, develop and manage project team. Ensure project milestones are met on time and within team and project budget. A successful launch is: PPAP and SOP (Start of Production) are on time Milestones are all green Project is within budget Production safety, quality and efficiency levels have met stated levels Tenneco operations standards are in place. Employee must perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions. Focus on process improvement and documentation. Deliver projects to Tennecos satisfaction. Drive decisions to ensure success of the program taking into account timing, investment, profitability, and EVA. Manage projects involving manufacturing footprint, transfer of business from one facility to another, insourcing and outsourcing. Drive design, implementation and start-up of new or expanded facilities. Drive lessons learned into standardized process for new or reduced footprint process. Report out project status in executive reviews and new plant start-up reviews. Devise customer communication plans.

Required Skills Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business with 10 years of experience in a relevant field. Proficiency in Project management methodology, project planning tools and techniques. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface / influence at multiple organizational levels within Tenneco. Must possess excellent relationship building, team building, networking skills, be well organized and able to function in a team environment. Must have excellent technical, organizational, troubleshooting, problem solving (product and process), budget and time management skills. Must have a knowledge of manufacturing processes, finance tools, general engineering, IT (SAP) with operations and management experience. Must have knowledge of suppliers, customer platforms and product line being developed for the project. Familiarity with office software products including: MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel Must possess managerial courage, cultural awareness, be a motivator and have the ability to delegate responsibilities and tasks to achieve project objectives / goals. Must have basic knowledge of automotive industry standard tools (APQP, 8D, QOS, PPAP, DFSS, DFMEA, DVP&R, PFMEA, Control Plan, FEA, CAE, etc...) Must be goal oriented and possess a drive to meet program deliverables and deadlines. Must have experience with plant layout, flow and material information flow charting and/or value stream mapping. Be able to work with little direction (other than standard procedures), be dedicated to achieving results and be able to sustain high drive and energy levels under sometimes intense working conditions. Working knowledge of automotive industry and related systems. Have a willingness to travel 50% to 80% of the time with overnight stay.
