Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Production Planning Manager with 10+ years in aviation manufacturing or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) environments. The Production Planning Manager will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule to meet customer demand, inventory targets, and production efficiency goals. This role is critical in ensuring timely delivery of products and services while balancing capacity, material availability, and labor resources.
Position Responsibilities
Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on demand forecasts, backlog, and capacity constraints. Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Program Management to align schedules and support business objectives. Ensure availability of materials and resources to support scheduled operations; flag and resolve potential bottlenecks. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and lead time reduction. Conduct capacity planning and load analysis using ERP/MRP systems. Participate in Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development for customer-facing programs and proposals. Analyze changes in customer orders, lead times, or supply constraints and adjust schedules accordingly. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning, scheduling, and workflow processes. Provide regular schedule reports, status updates, and risk assessments to leadership. Lead scheduling meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production and delivery milestones are met. Mentor junior schedulers/planners and support staff as needed. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (Master's preferred). Minimum of 10 years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or supply chain management within the power & energy, aviation or aerospace industry. Advanced proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IFS, or similar). Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and capacity/resource planning methodologies. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
