Maintenance Mechanic

Performs a variety of duties involved in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, utilities, fixtures, and interior and exterior structures, covering such trades as carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electricity, air-conditioning, plastering, roofing, painting, etc.
Performs visual examinations and operational tests to determine the need for and extent of repairs;
Installs, modifies, repairs, troubleshoots and tests new and existing systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment; works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals in order to plan and layout work and determine the nature and extent of repairs required;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED and at least five (5) years' trade experience and knowledge in at least three (3) trades such as carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electricity, air-conditioning, plastering, roofing, painting, etc.
Due to field responsibility, incumbent must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's permit; and be insurable in accordance with the Authority's Fleet Management Policy and Procedures Manual.
There will be a rolling screening process of applicants. Upon receipt of the first 50 candidates an initial review will be conducted. If sufficient qualified candidates are received as determined by the human resource specialist, they will be referred to the hiring manager(s). If the hiring manager conducts interviews and selects a candidate, the position will be removed and closed. If the hiring managers does not select a candidate, the human resources specialist will continue to review in intervals of 50 candidates and refer candidates to the hiring manager until a selection is made.
