A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST - CATH LAB
As a Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist, you assist the cardiologist with diagnostic and interventional procedures and ensure diagnostic quality and maximum comfort and safety for patients who undergo these procedures. Performs sterile scrub duties and hemodynamic monitoring during cardiac catheterizations, vascular and interventional radiology procedures using clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional judgment in accordance with professional and departmental standards and protocols. Assists in the holding area with pre op and post op care of patients when applicable. Provides care, instruction, and assessment prior, during and post procedure to patients as applicable. Prepares documentation and maintains pertinent information related to procedures
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST - CATH LAB Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology; Two (2) years experience in diagnostic and/or interventional cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology lab American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
or
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or exam eligible at time of hire (RCIS) BLS, ACLS certification Demonstrates clinical competence in basic cardiac physiology/pathology, 12-Lead EKG interpretation; physiologic monitoring (intra cardiac pressure waveform knowledge), pacemaker operations (implantable and external) and other radiographic equipment related to cardiac care. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Four (4) years in combination cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology lab ARRT with Advanced Level Certification in Cardiac Interventional Radiography Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
