Staffmark is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Estimator specializing in Water & Wastewater Systems to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a construction professional with expertise in treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and environmental infrastructure to lead meaningful projects that directly impact public utility systems.
Pay: $90,000 - $110,000 (depending on experience)
Schedule: Rotating schedule
As Project Manager/Estimator, you'll oversee the planning, estimating, and execution of complex construction projects focused on water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Responsibilities
Lead construction projects for water and wastewater facilities, including treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and tanks. Coordinate civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes to ensure efficient workflows. Manage project schedules, budgets, safety, and quality through field oversight and collaboratio n. Analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate cost estimates. Prepare takeoffs, solicit and review subcontractor/vendor bids, and develop proposals. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, SWRCB, and municipal safety/environmental standards. Serve as primary contact for owners, municipalities, and utilities ; represent the company in meetings. Maintain project documentation, manage change orders and pay applications, and track performance metrics. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. 5+ years managing or estimating water/wastewater infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of treatment processes, piping, concrete structures, and heavy equipment planning. Experience with public works bidding, compliance practices, and Design-Bid-Build or Design-Build models. Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS/HeavyBid) and scheduling tools (MS Project). Ability to read civil drawings, grading plans, and utility diagrams. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Familiarity with DOT, municipal contracts, SWPPP, QA/QC procedures, and confined space safety programs is a plus. Licensed P.E. in California (or ability to obtain) is a strong plus.
