Job Description The Staffing Coordinator provides integral supportive services to University Hospital/Ross Float Pool and Clinical Resources Staff. This position serves as a liaison between other departmental service lines by providing staffing support, guidance, direction and assistance as needed. Additionally, provides staffing and clerical assistance for the Administrative Nursing Supervisors and Clinical Resources cost center. This team member is flexible, especially as the department continues to grow in volume and activity. It is vital that this team member is friendly, enthusiastic, and promotes a culture of cooperation and mutual respect amongst the departments served. Must be available on weekends/holidays. Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordination of Staffing Resources

Demonstrates effective problem solving, negotiating, and conflict resolution skills while partnering with the Staffing Supervisor, ANS, Float Pool Staff, and unit Charge Nurses to meet hospital wide staffing demands.

Provide outstanding customer service while acting as the first point of contact for incoming communication to the Clinical Resources Department.

Fields questions/inquiries from Float Pool Staff, unit Charge Nurses, and Nursing Management. Appropriately answers or directs inquiries to the ANS or Director.

Takes all calls related to staffing decision making

Transcribes incoming staffing requests to master Staffing Report Sheet

Compiles all pertinent staffing information to complete staffing every 4 hours

Float Pool Office Duties

Greets and directs all visitors, including staff and job candidates

Places calls to Float Pool staff members who have not arrived for duty and immediately notifies the ANS or NM that an employee has not arrived for their scheduled shift

Department payroll

Completes end of shift summary of events

Maintains Float Pool logs (VOT/MOT, Dodd Hall rotation, Force Place, etc.)

Minimum Education Required Must be able to work 3 -12's (7am to 7 pm) No Rotating

High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred.

1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Per Classified Civil Svc Specs

1 year related medical secretarial experience or completion of an associate's degree program with three courses in medical terminology preferred;

6 months experience (600 hours training) using computers to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex;

6 mos. experience (600 hrs course work) in office practices and procedures;

6 months experience (600 hours course work) in customer service;

3 mos. experience (300 hours training) in use of word processing equipment, consistent with position description;

Experience processing University travel preferred
