Reports To: Rob Garrett, Executive Director Location: Mid-Columbia Senior Center, The Dalles, OR Status: Part-time, 20 hours per week (.50 FTE) Compensation: $28.85/hour ($30,000/year) Position Summary:

The Mid-Columbia Senior Center is seeking a self-motivated, compassionate, organized, and dependable individual to serve as the Harbor Respite Program Coordinator for a new community-based respite care program. The program supports caregivers by providing engaging, person-centered care to individuals living with dementia. The Harbor Respite Program Coordinator will oversee daily program operations, coordinate volunteers, and ensure a safe and enriching experience for all participants. Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct care and supervision for program participants, ensuring safety and well-being at all times Plan and facilitate engaging, meaningful activities based on participants interests and abilities Conduct in-person intake and assessment of new participants at their homes Foster a warm, respectful, and inclusive environment in alignment with a person-centered, social model of care Supervise and support program volunteers, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and guidance during program hours Communicate effectively with family caregivers, volunteers, and community partners Maintain accurate participant records, including attendance and activity notes, ensuring confidentiality and secure storage of participant information Monitor participants for any changes in behavior or condition and report concerns appropriately Assist with program set-up and clean-up Lead data collection and reporting requirements related to grants and funding Help develop and refine program procedures to ensure quality and safety Contribute to sustainability efforts including seeking and applying for donations and grants and organizing fundraising opportunities Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in health care or management, or high school diploma with at least two years of relevant professional or management experience within the last five years Experience working with older adults, especially individuals living with dementia Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills Ability to lead group activities and support a team of volunteers Patience, empathy, and respect for people living with dementia and their caregivers Ability to perform physical tasks including assisting participants, setting up activities, and light cleaning Familiarity with person-centered care principles and willingness to complete dementia care training upon hire Experience with outreach and recruitment of program participants and volunteers CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Compliance with criminal history and abuse checks Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in person-centered dementia care, adult group respite services, or similar settings Prior training or certification in dementia care Bilingual and/or bicultural skills a plus Knowledge of local aging services and community resources Fundraising or grant writing experience a plus This position is based at the Mid-Columbia Senior Center and involves regular interaction with older adults, volunteers, and caregivers on-site. Some work involves off-site activities such as completing in-home intake visits, attending community meetings, and outreach at various locations throughout Wasco County. Mileage reimbursement is available. The role requires standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, and assisting individuals with mobility limitations.
