Position Summary:The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct care to residents in a long-term care and skilled nursing setting. CNAs assist residents with daily living activities, ensure their comfort and safety, and support the nursing staff in delivering high-quality care.Key Responsibilities:Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.Monitor and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to nursing staff.Take and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.Help residents with mobility, including transferring, ambulation, and use of assistive devices.Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.Document care provided and observations in accordance with facility policies.Follow infection control and safety procedures.Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic resident care.Observing resident behavior, mood, and physical condition, noting any changes and reporting them to the nurse. Serving meals and assisting residents with eating as needed. Maintaining resident's personal hygiene by assisting with oral care, incontinence care, and changing bed linens. Implementing safety precautions to prevent falls and injuries. Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.Current CNA certification in the state of New Mexico.CPR certification (preferred).Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.Compassionate, patient, and dependable.Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.Work Environment:Fast-paced healthcare setting.Exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids.Interaction with elderly and disabled residents.
