Summary/General Description Of Job:
The Maintenance Mechanic installs replaces and changes machine parts and attachments and reassembles machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work. Excluded from this classification are workers whose primary duties involve setting up or adjusting machines.
Essential Duties & Job Functions: §
Repairs machinery or mechanical equipment.
§
Examines machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble.
§
Dismantles or partly dismantles machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts.
§
Replaces broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock or commercial vendors.
§
Orders the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sending the parts to a machine shop for major repairs.
§
Prepares written specifications for major repairs or for production of parts.
§
Reassembles machines, making all necessary adjustments for operation.
§
May diagnose or repair minor electrical connections.
§
Performs other related duties as assigned.
May perform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to the accomplishment of the work assignment.
Significant work in another job classification may be required if accompanied by any wage adjustments applicable.

The proper use of tools and equipment commonly used in the mechanic field.

Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
•
Timely and cost-effective performance of duties.
•
Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work.
•

Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures.
