Looking for highly skilled and motivated Industrial Controls Electricians
DS Containers looking for experienced
Industrial Controls Electricians
to work 2nd or 3rd shift in our Batavia and West Chicago manufacturing facilities. We compensate well for the right candidate who is energetic, motivated, skilled and looking for growth in a positive environment.
Hours: 5 days, 8 hours, will include either Saturday or Sunday based on a shifting schedule, which also includes a four-day weekend every few weeks. Shifts are 2pm-10pm or 10pm-6am.
Industrial Controls Electrician Requirements:
This position requires both industrial electrician skills as well as controls skills. Solidly trained industrial electrician, with 5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
Experience with running and bending conduit (EMT and Rigid, up to 1”).
Experience with safety PPE, arc flash, lockout / tagout.
Experience with 480VAC power distribution, utilities such as compressors, cooling towers, HVAC.
Ability to work with 3 phase motors, inverter and servo drives. AC and DC control circuit trouble shooting ability.
Experience with installing VFD’s and setting parameters referencing an existing system.
Must be able to read industrial electrical schematics for diagnosing machine issues and panel wiring as well.
Experience with installing and troubleshooting analog and digital sensors.

Ability to connect online with PLC’s and understand logic to troubleshoot machinery. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Omron PLC’s is .
Familiarity with Ethernet and DeviceNet protocols for machine device communication (PLC to drives, HMI, Remote I/O…).
Experience with HMI’s (knowledge of Rockwell Automation software, FactoryTalk View Studio).
Must have own set of tools for use and ability to use multimeter, megohmmeters, and additional advanced diagnostic tools.
Must work well in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Position is primarily production support but also involves working on installation projects and preventive maintenance when not supporting production.
