Job Summary and Qualifications
The Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator collaborates with trauma program leadership to manage the Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) initiatives. Key responsibilities include assessing care compliance with clinical guidelines and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating the Trauma PI and Patient Safety Plan.
Maintain the Trauma PI database to ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
Conduct concurrent case reviews to assess quality and timelines in trauma care standards.
Participate in educational programs for nurses and resident physicians focused on trauma patient care.
Act as a liaison for clinical areas managing trauma cases.
Coordinate the monthly multidisciplinary Trauma Systems & Operations Committee and Peer Review meetings.
Qualifications Needed:
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
Completion of Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months of employment.
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License.
Education: Associate Degree, RN Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Active Florida RN license or appropriate compact licensure, with an active Florida RN license within 60 days of hire.
1 - 3 years of experience in trauma injury prevention facilitation required.
