Position Purpose
The BIM Detailer plays a critical role in transforming conceptual designs into precise, buildable documentation that supports engineering, fabrication, and construction processes. These professionals are responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and digital models that serve as the foundation for manufacturing, installation, and project coordination.
Working closely with engineers, designers, project managers, and fabrication teams, the Detailer ensures that all visual and technical documentation meets project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations. Whether focused on mechanical systems, structural components, or complex architectural environments, the role demands a high level of accuracy, spatial awareness, and collaboration.
Detailers are expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain revision histories, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts by recommending design optimizations. They serve as a bridge between design intent and real-world execution, ensuring that every detail is accounted for in the final deliverables.
Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit). Interpret design concepts and translate them into technical documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on design specifications. Track and document revisions, bill of materials (BOM), and drawing updates. Prepare submittal packages and respond to RFIs or client feedback. Ensure compliance with internal standards, project requirements, and applicable codes. Recommend design improvements to enhance cost-efficiency, quality, or manufacturability. Develop and manage Revit models, BIM families, and digital documentation. Work within a Common Data Environment (CDE). Support fabrication/installation teams with model-based direction. Collaborate on BIM standards, templates, and workflows. Interface with BIM Coordinators and Managers to align with project and client requirements. People Management / Leadership Responsibilities:

Qualifications - Academic / Vocational
Degree or certification in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related technical field. Experience - Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding of drafting principles, spatial reasoning, and technical documentation. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. Familiarity with manufacturing or construction processes is a plus. Strong Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 experience. Familiarity with 3D modeling tools and digital collaboration platforms. Background in architecture, engineering, construction, or themed entertainment. Experience with complex venue or show production environments is a plus.
