Position Overview The
Banquet Houseperson
at Carneros Resort and Spa is responsible for the physical set-up, break down, and maintenance of all banquet and event spaces across the property. This role supports the behind-the-scenes operations that allow for flawless execution of weddings, corporate functions, and private events. As an
on-call team member
, flexibility and efficiency are essential—particularly during evenings, weekends, and peak seasons.
The ideal candidate takes pride in presentation, has strong attention to detail, and works well both independently and in collaboration with the banquet and events team.
Key Responsibilities
Set up banquet rooms and event spaces according to event diagrams and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, linens, staging, bars, and service stations
Ensure all event spaces are clean, polished, and guest-ready prior to scheduled start times
Break down and reset event rooms promptly after each function, returning all equipment to designated storage areas
Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of banquet furniture and equipment, reporting any damage or safety concerns
Collaborate with Banquet Captains, Servers, and Bartenders to support smooth transitions between events and setups
Maintain back-of-house storage and work areas in an organized, clean, and accessible condition
Assist with outdoor and indoor setups across the resort’s 28-acre property, adapting to various terrain and weather conditions
Follow all safety, sanitation, and lifting protocols to protect guests, team members, and resort assets
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in banquet setup, hospitality operations, or facilities support preferred
Ability to read and follow floor plans, BEOs, and event timelines
Strong work ethic with a focus on cleanliness, detail, and teamwork
Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments
Familiarity with luxury service expectations and resort event operations is a plus
Schedule & Physical Requirements
On-call position
with emphasis on
evening, weekend, and holiday availability
Must be able to
lift and carry up to 75 pounds
, including banquet tables, chairs, staging, and equipment
Must be able to
stand, walk, push, pull, and bend for extended periods
, including on uneven surfaces and during inclement weather
Ability to work a
flexible schedule
based on event volume and operational needs
