JOB SUMMARY:
The Community Engagement Intern supports the overall goals of TVFCU by ensuring that TVFCU is visible in the community. This role assists in managing the execution, analysis, planning, control & evaluation of sponsorship requests and TVFCU event efforts. Responsible for building strategic relationships within the community. Represents TVFCU in a professional manner at civic functions, chamber meetings, TVFCU marketing events and community involvement activities, creating a favorable impression and new opportunities for TVFCU.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Write, proof and/or edit press releases, website content and social media posts as needed Provide creative assistance when it pertains to events Assist with maintaining Kadince, a community/events tracking software, and keeping the events calendar updated. Assist with events, set-up and take-down of TVFCU booth space. Assist to coordinate and communicate sponsorship fulfillment logistics with event venues, general services contractors and other vendors. Assist with large internal events such as Idea Leap, TVFCU Golf Tournament, grand openings, etc. Assist with the annual meeting and Used Car Nights at the Lookouts. Learn media monitoring software to check local and national news every day and gather content for the monthly media report. Assist with media relations in TVFCU's service area. Assist with live and taped on-air TV segments, radio spots, and TVFCU videos. Track and organize marketing supplies and promotional items. Contribute to marketing team planning meetings and assist with marketing team projects as needed. This person may be required to perform other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Marketing/Community Outreach Manager. Proactively demonstrate the TVFCU core values of integrity, honesty, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, accountability and strong relationships in every interaction with members. EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
This internship is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in community outreach, marketing, and event support. Interns will actively contribute to TVFCU's public engagement efforts while gaining professional experience in a dynamic, real-world setting.
To be considered, candidates must:
Be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Production, or a related field Have strong verbal and written communication skills; conversational Spanish is a plus Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks Be comfortable working independently and performing manual setup/takedown of displays Be available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and rotating weekends (2-3 events/week) Be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
