Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, the Maintenance III position is responsible for all levels of plumbing and maintenance of school and building equipment systems. In addition, under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, the Maintenance III position may include analyzing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, installing, repairing, replacing, building, prefabricating, altering and maintaining equipment related to plumbing. Work involves inspection of the work sites to determine time and materials needed. Assignments are generally received in the form of work orders and completed work is inspected by the Maintenance Foreman.

Qualifications: High School or GED diploma required. Minimum of five (5) years proven experience in the plumbing trade. Considerable knowledge of the methods, equipment, and tools of the plumbing trade. Ability to repair and install plumbing fixtures, faucets, drain lines, hose bibs, etc.. Thorough knowledge of applicable building/safety codes, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in plumbing for residential/commercial settings. Ability to efficiently read building blueprints and drawings Possession of a valid Maryland noncommercial class "C" driver's license or equivalent Excellent organization, administrative and supervisory abilities. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with staff, students and members of the community, including parents, and business/industry personnel. Able to lift 50 pounds on a recurring basis, work in inclement weather and work from ladders, scaffolding, etc. Responsibilities:

Maintains and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs and drain Repairs or installs water fountains and bottle filling stations. Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold water lines with Propress, soldering, SharkBites, etc. Able to use sewage machines for clogged drain lines. Repairs water distribution piping and wastewater piping including steam and hot water systems. Able to work with low voltage flush valves and faucets. Performs preventive maintenance on plumbing systems, including exercising valves. Able to perform new installations and retrofits. Repairs and replaces domestic hot water heat pumps, chilled water pumps, sump pumps, and sewage pumps. Repairs or installs condensation drain lines on RTU's, AHU's, ductless units and split system units. Repairs and replaces radiator valves, traps and steam and condensate pipes. Able to read and understand blueprints or other construction documents. Performs assignments in a timely manner once a work order for maintenance has been submitted. Other job related duties as assigned.

Pay & Hours:

This position is a 12-month with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
