Position Overview:
Maronda Inc is currently looking for a talented Assistant Controller to support our Corporate Accounting department. This
position will report directly to the VP - Corporate Controller. This role with be in office at our Corporate headquarters in
Imperial, PA.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Lead the month-end close process with a deadline to complete and distribute internal financial statements after six
business days. This includes but is not limited to the following.
o Finalizing the monthly home closing count. This includes collaboration with division/executive
leadership and the accounting department to verify and distribute the closing count by the end of business
day two.
o Preparing, reviewing and approving month-end close journal entries
o Monitoring monthly close checklist to ensure completion of all department's tasks
o Researching intercompany out of balance items with the accounting department to ensure proper
elimination of intercompany transactions.
o Preparing internal financial statements once all close tasks are completed • Lead quarter-end close process with a deadline to complete and distribute "hard close" internal financial
statements approximately three business weeks after the quarter ends. • Coordination and/or approval of daily funding amounts from our title company for our home closings throughout
the month. • Perform balance sheet account reconciliation/analysis for the following accounts:
o Accrued builder bonuses, commissions, and non-builder bonuses
o Deferred compensation
o Capitalized overhead and capitalized interest
o Bank reconciliations, with eventual delegation to the senior accountants • Review balance sheet account reconciliations performed by the senior accountants on a monthly/quarterly basis.
This would include all balance sheet account reconciliations except for those being prepared by the Assistant
Controller (noted above). • Review journal entries prepared by senior accountants throughout the month to ensure that necessary adjustments
or corrections resulting from balance sheet account reconciliations/analysis are made prior to month-end.

MARONDA JOB DESCRIPTIONS • Administration of the company wide credit card program and facilitating with divisions new cards, terminated
cards, and any other matters that would arise • Responsible for supervising three staff members (two senior accountants and one staff accountant) • Work with accounting department to document policies and procedures and facilitate with technical writer to
ensure standardization/organization of these documents • Oversight of accounting for title company to ensure proper treatment • Responsible for returning Customer Deposits via ACH utilizing banking software • Support VP-Corporate Controller and regional financial analysts in the business planning process as needed. • Coordinate with external auditors providing account documentation and analysis as needed. • Prepare external financial statements on a quarterly basis to align with GAAP • Act as back up to the VP-Corporate Controller for the daily treasury review and approval of cash transactions • Act as back up to the VP-Corporate Controller for the daily review and approval of vendor payment runs • Prepare short-term cash projection (three to six months) with daily updates to align ending balance with bank
operating cash balance • Prepare processes and procedures to facilitate SOX compliance • Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience and additional requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required • 7-10 years minimum related accounting and financial experience required. Homebuilding, real estate, or
commercial land experience a plus • Public accounting experience required • Excellent attention to detail • Ability to multi-task, coordinate meetings with others and meet deadlines • Strong knowledge of GAAP • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Interpersonal skills to effectively work with all levels of management • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to manage their workload and handle competing priorities • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Salary Range: $130,000-$150,000, plus bonus potential
