Job Title: Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for the third shift to ensure the optimal functioning of all plant equipment, buildings, and grounds. This role involves both mechanical and electrical maintenance with a focus on hydraulic systems.
Responsibilities
Repair and maintain all plant equipment, buildings, and grounds.
Troubleshoot issues, focusing primarily on hydraulic systems.
Handle mechanical (60%) and electrical (40%) repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, relief valves, hoses, cylinders, conveyor belts, chains, and motors.
Diagnose and repair VFDs, transformers, and 480V, 240 single, and 3 phase systems.
Install and run conduit and wire for 3 phase systems.
Observe mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts.
Inspect and determine dimensional requirements for used parts.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repair or replace defective parts, lubricate, and clean machines.
Start machines to test their performance.
Repair electrical equipment and control systems.
Maintain records in compliance with quality procedures.
Conduct plant-wide safety checks on equipment.
Complete maintenance request forms and preventive maintenance documentation.
Follow safety standards and procedures according to OSHA and ANSI regulations.
Complete requisitions for maintenance items needed for equipment repair.
Ensure timely completion of all maintenance repairs.
Repair and perform preventive maintenance on all auxiliary equipment, tagging completed work.
Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V and perform lockout/tagout procedures.
Essential Skills
4+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
GED or high school diploma.
Experience with 480V and 3 phase systems.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Experience in running conduit and wire.
Troubleshooting experience with VFDs, transformers, 480V, 240 single, and 3 phase systems.
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience.
Ability to troubleshoot pumps, valves, relief valves, hoses, cylinders, conveyor belts, chains, and motors.
Experience with gears and motors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Fabrication skills.
PLC troubleshooting skills.
Work Environment
The work environment is non-climate controlled, with shifts running Monday through Friday, including Saturdays. The third shift operates from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Employees should be comfortable with working weekends and overtime. There is a $2 shift differential for second and third shifts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
