Position Summary:
As a
Pre-Service Specialist
, you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience at Saint Joseph Health System. Working in a collaborative environment, you will support clinical operations by verifying insurance benefits, securing authorizations, and facilitating pre-registration processes-all while delivering exceptional customer service.
What You Will Do:
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements
Communicate with providers, payers, and patients to resolve billing and scheduling issues
Pre-register patients and collect financial liabilities including co-pays and deductibles
Validate medical necessity for Medicare and Non-Medicare cases
Support scheduling, documentation correction, and reporting as needed
What You Will Need:
High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business or healthcare preferred
3-5 years of experience in healthcare or insurance setting
Working knowledge of third-party payer regulations and medical terminology
CHAA certification preferred
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to travel to patient access sites
