You will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will have an onsite work structure in Chatsworth, California.To be considered for the Buyer II opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
Typically, a minimum of four years' experience in a supply chain role in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with aerospace materials, components, and supply chain requirements.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (i.e., SAP, Oracle, INFOR).
As a Buyer II, you will: Extract requirements from MRP report, quote, and procure large volume of parts while working from drawings, specifications, custom reports, e-mails, and other sources of information to ensure that the order requirements are properly approved prior to commitment. Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings that support production, shipments, and other procurement related activities. Review, analyze, and manage purchase orders, subcontract agreements, terms and conditions. Identify and share business risks with Supply Chain and Program Management, seeking legal counsel from Supply Chain Management when necessary. Monitor and manage purchase orders and subcontract performance to achieve expected results and customer satisfaction. Track and report progress on assignments, initiatives, and projects to Supply Chain Management as assigned. Communicate and enforce customer/quality 'flow down' requirements. Coordinate and track the return, rework, repair, and exchange of defective materials, issue requests for corrective action, and follow up on corrective action responses. Participate in competitive bidding, evaluate and analyze supplier quotations, and strive for positive cost saving/cost out results. Meet or exceed negotiation objectives /targets with suppliers, documenting the results of negotiation(s). Collaborate cross-functionally to improve supplier oversight and performance, driving continuous improvement through the supply base. Effectively and professionally communicate with internal customers and external suppliers at all levels to provide appropriate support, resolve issues, and achieve company goals and objectives. Conduct supplier visits as necessary for status, follow-up on and expedite orders, resolve issues and problems. Partner with Supply Chain Management Team to develop new sources of supply and influence supplier improvements. Engage and participate in SBA (Small Business Administration) program to meet SBA goals through strategic sourcing, solicitations, and order placements.
