Early Career Civil/Geotechnical Engineer
in our
Boca Raton, Florida
office. The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations on projects involving design, permitting and construction of civil infrastructure; building foundations; solid waste containment systems, reservoirs, dams, levees and other water containment and control structures. Typical work assignments include but are not limited to geotechnical subsurface investigation; geo-instrumentation install and monitoring; slope stability analysis; stormwater treatment, conveyance and detention/retention design; construction quality assurance all while learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. Conducting geotechnical investigations;
Evaluating subsurface improvement and foundation recommendations; QA monitoring of heavy civil construction projects; Performing and reviewing engineering calculations; Preparing technical specifications and construction drawings; Performing solid waste management facility design, permitting and quality assurance; Conducting dam and levee inspections; Contributing to proposals for professional engineering and construction services; and Writing and reviewing detailed engineering reports. Education and Licensure
Bachelor's degree in civil and/or geotechnical engineering. (required) Advanced degree in the same. (preferred) Engineer Intern (EI). (preferred) Professional Engineer (PE). (preferred) Skills, Experience and Qualifications
At least 2 years of work experience in engineering consulting or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS. (preferred) Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, eBuilder. (preferred) Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities. Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work in a team environment. Excellent communication skills. Ability to perform field work and overnight travel assignment. (required) Field work and overnight travel may be required Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required) Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) #LI-NM1 #LI-Onsite
