This position is responsible for negotiation, establishment, and preparation of all grant-related documents, reports, applications, and budgets on behalf of the department. It involves all aspects of funded research, including application, setup, oversight, and reporting. The role requires initiative, independence, and decision-making related to applications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE: Two years of directly related experience in grants administration and grant writing. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following describes the general nature of work performed by individuals in this position. It is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties, and other duties may be assigned. Manage all aspects of departmental grant application processes, including developing strategies, initiating applications, drafting letters of intent, preparing data, and creating budgets. Collaborate with the PI to organize files and ensure timely submission. Work with the PI throughout the submission process, ensuring adherence to timelines and proper submission to all relevant departments and agencies. Provide administrative and budgetary support for faculty, monitor funding opportunities, and assist with all grant applications and reports, including renewals and closeouts. Develop and verify budgets for awards, ensuring accuracy and compliance prior to submission. Stay updated on grant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and advise faculty accordingly. Verify salary allocations on grants and assist with effort reporting and grant closeouts. Assist with protocol applications for projects involving animals, human subjects, or biohazards. Attend training and seminars to stay current with grant application processes and tools, providing training to faculty as needed. Coordinate departmental education events, maintain equipment inventories, and track grant applications and expenditures. Maintain faculty information and assist with updates to publications and support documents. Track grant expenditures, prepare reports, and ensure expenditures are within award guidelines. Coordinate RVU tracking and FARA elections for faculty incentives. Manage departmental gift reports and payroll submissions, acting as backup for related systems. Prepare sub-contract agreements and assist the Department Chairman with grant-related data and reports. Manage access requests for department systems based on roles. PHYSICAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
