Elevator Operator (Seasonal)

Maplehurst Farms, Inc. is looking for elevator operators to assist in the operations of the grain elevators. This position is responsible for the loading, unloading, transferring, and storing of grain in an efficient and safe manner. Additional responsibilities include servicing and maintaining facilities and equipment and performing necessary repairs. Safety is a priority! All tasks must be completed in a safe manner following established safety procedures. This is an hourly position. Compensation and full-time position status will be based upon experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Grain OperationsAssists in the loading, unloading, transferring and storing of grainVisually monitors grain and grain products for irregularities and takes proper action when discoveredCleans and prepares storage facilities including but not limited to grain bins, flat storage and ground piles along with performing daily housekeeping to maintain the cleanliness and order of the grain handling areas (tunnels, head house, dump pits, facility grounds, grass areas, etc), as well as any areas within the plant as directedFollows established policies and procedures, along with proper communication when operating grain handling equipmentBecome knowledgeable of all grain storage locations and the capacities of each.Understands proper measurement techniques and reporting of product levels and quality of grain in storageUnderstands the proper operation of conveyance equipment that is utilized in the shipping, receiving and transferring of grain and grain products and the associated safety systems of that equipmentOperate and monitor grain dryer.Understands the importance of grain quality and how to properly grade corn, soybeans, and wheat (training provided).Maintenance ResponsibilitiesDaily monitors grain handling equipment conditions and performs routine maintenance and repairs as neededPerforms preventative maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipmentMaintains accurate written maintenance and repair orders for facilities and equipmentMaintains equipment lists to include equipment specifications, vendor information, drive unit specifications, and all pertinent information related to facilities and equipmentSafety/Misc.Follow all OSHA rules and Safety regulations. Responsible for properly and accurately recording all applicable documentationOther duties as assignedEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Basic understanding of millwright, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems including the ability to use a wide range of power toolsAbility to operate various machinery such as skid loader, front end loader, forklift, lawn mower, or other location specific equipmentAbility to climb to heights of 200 ft.Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing tasks efficiently and accurately.Displays professional customer service skills.Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, and pounding with hammerMust be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold, dusty conditions, extreme heights, or confined space for long periods of timeAble to work extended hours as needed, including weekendsA minimum high school diploma or GED equivalentAgricultural experience preferred
