Job Summary

Performs supply processing and distribution functions according to prescribed procedures and techniques. Typical Physical Demands

Standing, walking, stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds of force; static gripping of an object for prolonged periods. Frequent: kneeling, carrying weight of 20 pounds up to 40 pounds; reaching above, at and below shoulders. Occasional: sitting, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground; squatting, twisting body, repetitive arm/hand motions. Typical Working Conditions

Some exposure to extreme hot or cold while in decontam, subjected to noise/vibration from steam gun and sterilizers. Frequently exposed to hazardous materials (detergents and antiseptic solutions); works with operating equipment. Minimum Qualifications

A. Education/Certification And Licensure: Academic background with courses in general and biologic science preferred. Successful completion of Central Service Training course preferred. B. Experience: One (1) year experience as a SP Aide or comparable work experience. Ability to understand procedures relating to sterile techniques and processing, infection control procedures, patient care equipment, supply functions and inventory control procedures.
