The Sr. Business Development Manager is a dynamic role that requires a broad range of skillsets and experience. This role is responsible for owning and executing strategic initiatives and projects, developing new business models, and synthesizing tough problems into executive-level decision points. Strong candidates for this role will be well-versed in residential energy markets and technologies (solar, storage, home charging, V2X, etc.), and will bring a structured approach to solving problems, strong executive-level communications, and a history of successfully managing a wide array of projects and stakeholders. Working on Tesla's Residential Energy Business Development team requires wearing many hats and adapting to a fast-paced work environment. Besides a rock-solid work ethic and a strong team-oriented personality, members of the team must display creativity, passion, and a desire to break new ground in a constantly shifting landscape.Responsibilities Lead cross-functional, cross-regional initiatives to align on organizational strategy and present results to leadershipAnalyze new geographies, applications, and business models for residential products (energy storage, home charging, V2X, etc.)Develop and implement new market entry strategies and first-of-their-kind projectsUnderstand emerging industry trends and educate the rest of the company - update strategy, offers, and products accordinglyDevelop and execute on outreach strategies with major market players, potential customers, and potential partners in support of the team's many initiatives Requirements Excellent understanding of energy industry; deep knowledge of energy storage technology and value proposition. Strong existing connections across the industryEntrepreneurial mindset - self-starter who can explore and qualify opportunities with little direction, and has a track record of success in energy industryDeep knowledge of emerging applications and opportunities for residential storageStrong communications, strategy, financial modeling, and program management skillsExperience presenting to executive teams, ideally in a BD or strategy role8+ years in energy industry; 4+ years in energy storage Compensation and Benefits BenefitsAs a part-time Tesla employee, you will be eligible for:401(k) with employer match Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time Tesla Babies program Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Pet Insurance Expected Compensation$144,000 - $246,000/annual salary + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
