Clinical Lab Scientist
Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic team in Clinical Laboratory Services. This position plays a crucial role in providing accurate and timely diagnostic testing to support patient care across various hospitals. Responsibilities: Perform a wide range of laboratory tests in multiple disciplines, including: Hematology: Complete blood counts, coagulation studies, blood bank procedures Chemistry: Electrolytes, enzymes, hormones, drug levels Microbiology: Bacterial culture and identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing Immunology: Autoantibody testing, serological markers Urinalysis and Body Fluids: Microscopic examination, chemical analysis Molecular Diagnostics: PCR testing, genetic analysis Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including analyzers, microscopes, and automated systems Ensure proper specimen handling, processing, and analysis Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed Adhere to strict quality control procedures and safety protocols Participate in departmental quality assurance activities and proficiency testing Collaborate effectively with other laboratory personnel, physicians, and nurses Assist with training and mentoring of new staff members Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures Qualifications: Minimum one year of experience in an acute care facility required. Required training in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Immunology, and Serology as applicable. B.A./B.S. required Windows Operating System. Knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel is helpful. California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or Limited California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License, California Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License, California Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License are required and ASCP registry preferred Current Los Angeles County fire card is required.
