Primary Purpose: Provide clerical and office support to the Counseling Department

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills: Proficient keyboarding skills Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions Ability to operate basic office equipment

Experience: Three years experience in an office setting

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Reception and Phones 1. Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. 2. Greet and direct campus visitors. Maintain visitor log and issue visitor passes. 3. Assist parents in checking students in and out of school. 4. Prepare and distribute student identification cards, bus passes, and parking stickers. 5. Assist with the receipt and distribution of student materials, including homework requests. 6. Receive, sort, and distribute mail, messages, documents, and other deliveries. 7. Issue student locks/lockers, as needed. 8. Maintain student records, updating grades, test scores, etc., as needed. 9. Maintain inventory of campus supplies and order supplies, as needed. 10. Process delivery of warehouse orders. 11. Assist office staff with student withdrawals, student academic records from other campuses/districts. 12. Provide student data to appropriate personnel, as needed. 13. Set up parent/teacher conferences. 14. Assist Special Education teachers by (1) providing student data; (2) setting up ARD's. 15. Assist with the dissemination and collection of student choice slips. 16. Provide class schedules/grade cards to students, as needed. 17. Maintain student discipline records; enter into Region 20 Data System all referrals; and file discipline referrals.

Other 18. Provide clerical assistance as needed including assisting with the scheduling of appointments. 19. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required. 20. Maintain confidentiality. 21. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. 22. Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by Assistant Principal or designee.

Multi-line phone system; standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Lifting:

Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

May work prolonged or irregular hours

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
