Responsibilities & Requirements The PACS Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and overseeing the Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) within Kettering Health. This includes system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, ensuring data security and compliance, implementing updates to optimize workflow, and image access for medical professionals. Collaborate with the Epic Radiant team, modality chairs, and Radiologists to maintain system display protocols for the Radiologists. Work closely with Radiologists to resolve daily issues related to personal display protocols, general functionality, and system/role/user worklists. The PACS Administrator also works in partnership with the Information Systems Radiology, Client Support Systems and Imaging teams on system strategies and processes, including—but not limited to—EMR, Voice Dictation and PACS used by Providers.
Minimum Education
Graduation from an accredited Radiology Program with an AS in Radiological Technology or its equivalent.
Minimum Work Experience
Radiology Technologist with 5 years of clinical experience.
Licenses/Certifications
Obtain applicable certifications within 1 year of hire, recommended
ITIL Certified (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
Epic Proficiencies as needed by the role

Essential Functions
Perform routine system maintenance and performance checks, update and manage system configurations to ensure optimal PACS functionality.
Provide training to Radiologists and technologists on proper and efficient PACS system usage, including image retrieval, display protocols, system/user worklists, and reporting.
Implement and monitor security protocols to protect patient data, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical PACS-related issues, including network and image quality problems.
Develop and maintain PACS policies and procedures, including data management and access control.
Monitor system performance regularly to identify potential issues and optimize efficiency.
Manage data archiving and ensure reliable storage and retrieval of medical images.
Collaborate with vendors for system support, issue resolution, and upgrades.
Serve as liaison between radiology and IT staff to identify and implement solutions that meet clinical needs.
