Medical College of Wisconsin Position Description:
The Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and Emergency Medicine are seeking a
full-time psychiatrist with a focus on Emergency Psychiatry.
The qualified candidate will provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and students; and engage in scholarly and community-based activities—promoting all missions of the Medical College of Wisconsin. Mirroring the Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) Health Network, the Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and Emergency Medicine are experiencing unprecedented growth in practice locales and faculty member numbers.
Opportunity:

Closely collaborate with Emergency Medicine (EM) faculty members, EM residents, ED social workers, and ED nurses to identify and meet the needs of patients presenting the ED with behavioral health needs. Ample teaching and supervision opportunities with accredited 3-year Emergency Medicine and 4-year Psychiatry residency programs, an ACGME-accredited Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry fellowship program, and the 3rd-largest private allopathic medical school in the nation—the Medical College of Wisconsin—located on campus.

In-person coverage is confined to a single-location work site at the flagship academic medical center, no travel requirements. The team does provide virtual psychiatric assessments to the system’s satellite ED sites as well.
